“Do all things without complaining and disputing, that you may become blameless and harmless, children of God without fault in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom you shine as lights in the world, holding fast the word of life, so that I may rejoice in the day of Christ that I have not run in vain or labored in vain.” Philippians 2:14-16 NKJV
I’ve had a few things on my mind lately. Had some interruptions to my normal schedule. Then I stumble upon this scripture. Have I been complaining? Hmmm. Have I been shining, holding fast the word of life?
Then I came across a question this morning, asking if God is there in the little things of our lives. We have so very many little things, small opportunities to live as lights in this dark world.
“Put on then, as God’s chosen ones, holy and beloved, compassionate hearts, kindness, humility, meekness, and patience, (…) And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.” Colossians 3:12, 17 ESV
Today, what exciting things will God be doing in our lives? We should pray that we will be Jesus’ hands and feet reaching out in love to the people He gathers around us.
“Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, rejoice.” Philippians 4:4 ESV
