Balance

“Very early in the morning, while it was still dark, Jesus got up, left the house and went off to a solitary place, where he prayed. Simon and his companions went to look for him, and when they found him, they exclaimed: ‘Everyone is looking for you!’ Jesus replied, ‘Let us go somewhere else—to the nearby villages—so I can preach there also. That is why I have come.’ So he traveled throughout Galilee, preaching in their synagogues and driving out demons.” ‭‭Mark‬ ‭1‬:‭35‬-‭39‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Jesus is God. When He took on flesh and physically walked among us, He took time to rest. When His disciples found Him, He was up and ready to move on to yet another location where people need the Life-giving message Jesus brings.

Balance. Yesterday when I talked about this passage with a friend of mine, she added that Jesus’ restful time in prayer with the Father is where the real work was done. Can we assume that time with His Father is where Jesus renewed His strength, got His direction?

How much more do we need that time with the Father?
Today we should pray that God will help us to be diligent to spend undistracted time with Him. We can pray for our eyes and ears to be open to what He says to us.

“But those who wait on the Lord Shall renew their strength; They shall mount up with wings like eagles, They shall run and not be weary, They shall walk and not faint.” Isaiah‬ ‭40‬:‭31‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
