“Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his might.”
We live in unusual times. It seems easier to see the battle between light and darkness, good and evil. So we stand in God’s strength, wearing the armor He has given us.
“Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil.”
When things are going well for us, it’s easy to forget. And then they don’t. This week, getting ready for our 2nd Saturday gathering and for the retreat on Sunday has been interesting.
“For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places.”
Sickness in several people, issues with two computers, checks that should have been here by now, and a car that decided not to start. Interesting timing.
“Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand firm.”
That’s what we do. We stand firm in Jesus, in His strength, not our own.
“praying at all times in the Spirit, with all prayer and supplication. To that end, keep alert with all perseverance, making supplication for all the saints,”
We pray, and ladies, we invite you! Tomorrow, November 9 at RiverzEdge at 10:00. Sunday, November 10 at Morningside Lutheran at noon (this includes lunch with a freewill offering). To share together what God is doing in our lives. To study God’s Word, His Truth. And to pray together.
We pray that as we boldly proclaim the gospel, Jesus will be glorified and all present at these events will grow closer to Jesus.
“and also for me, that words may be given to me in opening my mouth boldly to proclaim the mystery of the gospel,” Ephesians 6:10-13, 18-19 ESV
