Happy New Year!
How’s your day going so far? How are your New Year’s resolutions coming along?
It’s fun to imagine that there might be something magical with the turning of a calendar page. I’m sure most people have something in their lives they would like to change.
God, at a certain point, created all that we see. In the beginning. It was perfect. Until it was not.
“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through him, and without him was not any thing made that was made. In him was life, and the life was the light of men. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.” John 1:1-5 ESV
Creation was perfect. Then man sinned. Even then God had a plan to buy us back from the kingdom of darkness. Jesus. He came to take our punishment and give us Life!
Let this be our determination today and this year. Today we should pray that we will follow Jesus into His light of forgiveness and love. Today let’s offer our very lives to Jesus Who lights the way for us to know the Father.
“Again Jesus spoke to them, saying, ‘I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.’” John 8:12 ESV
