“And going into the house, they saw the child with Mary his mother, and they fell down and worshiped him. Then, opening their treasures, they offered him gifts, gold and frankincense and myrrh.” Matthew 2:11 ESV
When we encounter Jesus, what do we do? Eventually every knee will bow before this King Who is and Who reigns far above every king. Whether in love and adoration or otherwise, every knee will bow before Him.
The wise men gave Jesus gifts. They gave what they had. What do we have? What do we give this Ruler Who created everything and needs nothing? What does He want of us?
“Blessed is she who believed, for there will be a fulfillment of those things which were told her from the Lord.” Luke 1:45 NKJV
He wants our lives, our love, our trust. Our all, our surrender.
Today (and every day!) we should bow before our God Who came to save us and now lives in us when we repent and surrender to Him.
“‘And she will bring forth a Son, and you shall call His name Jesus, for He will save His people from their sins.’ So all this was done that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the Lord through the prophet, saying: ‘Behold, the virgin shall be with child, and bear a Son, and they shall call His name Immanuel,’ which is translated, ‘God with us.’” Matthew 1:21-23 NKJV
