Bread

“Give us today our daily bread.” Matthew 6:11 HCSB

Gotta love God’s timing! I’m baking bread with a friend today. She just sent me this verse. Apparently it randomly popped up for her as a daily verse. The day we’re baking bread together.
This morning, here are some ‘slices’ of bread I’m chewing on:

“They even spoke against God himself, saying, ‘God can’t give us food in the wilderness. Yes, he can strike a rock so water gushes out, but he can’t give his people bread and meat.’” Psalms 78:19-20 NLT

“Remember the things I have done in the past. For I alone am God! I am God, and there is none like me.” Isaiah 46:9 NLT

“But then I recall all you have done, O Lord; I remember your wonderful deeds of long ago.” Psalms 77:11 NLT

“For I know the plans I have for you,’ says the Lord. ‘They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope. In those days when you pray, I will listen. If you look for me wholeheartedly, you will find me.’” Jeremiah 29:11-13 NLT

My summarization:
How often am I (are we) like the Israelites, thinking that this problem I’m facing right now is the one thing God can’t do? But He tells us to remember His faithfulness. So we do. And then He tells us He still does have good plans for us!

Today let’s pray, believe, trust, and surrender! God is good and He is faithful to us!
