Change

“For I am about to do something new. See, I have already begun! Do you not see it? I will make a pathway through the wilderness. I will create rivers in the dry wasteland.” Isaiah 43:19 NLT

This year is nearly gone. We look with wonder at the next year. Will it be better? Worse?

“It will happen in a moment, in the blink of an eye, when the last trumpet is blown. For when the trumpet sounds, those who have died will be raised to live forever. And we who are living will also be transformed.” 1 Corinthians 15:52 NLT

Things can change so suddenly. I was reminded this morning of the tsunami 20 years ago. Vivid in my mind because I lived in Bangkok at the time. How many lives and families were taken/changed so suddenly.

“Then Jesus shouted out again, and he released his spirit. At that moment the curtain in the sanctuary of the Temple was torn in two, from top to bottom. The earth shook, rocks split apart,” Matthew 27:50-51 NLT

The moment Jesus took His last breath changed everything. Our punishment was paid for. The curtain separating us from God was torn. Jesus made the way for us to be in God’s presence.

“Not that I was ever in need, for I have learned how to be content with whatever I have. I know how to live on almost nothing or with everything. I have learned the secret of living in every situation, whether it is with a full stomach or empty, with plenty or little.” Philippians 4:11-12 NLT

Paul knew that no matter what, even in an ancient prison, God was with him.
Today we should pray that our trust and hope in God will be firm. No matter what.

“You have endowed him with eternal blessings and given him the joy of your presence. For the king trusts in the Lord. The unfailing love of the Most High will keep him from stumbling.” Psalms 21:6-7 NLT
