“If then you have been raised with Christ, seek the things that are above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God.” Colossians 3:1 ESV
I was going to stop there. That position sounds glorious, doesn’t it! Then I read on-
“Set your minds on things that are above, not on things that are on earth.” Colossians 3:2 ESV
The contrast! Do this, not that. And why do we do this?
“For you have died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God.” Colossians 3:3 ESV
Our old selves are gone. Like a caterpillar who has gone into its cocoon and emerges a butterfly. We are made new.
“When Christ who is your life appears, then you also will appear with him in glory.”
Colossians 3:4 ESV
At our ladies’ discussion on Saturday, we talked about the importance of meditating on Scripture. Today we should pray that God will motivate us to do that. We should pray that as we meditate on God’s Word, He will change us from the inside out.
“So Jesus said to the Jews who had believed him, ‘If you abide in my word, you are truly my disciples, and you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.’” John 8:31-32 ESV
