Clean

“Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me.” Psalm 51:10 ESV

We woke up to snow. So white, so clean! God says this is what He does with us when we repent- He makes us whiter than snow!

In the book of Amos, God showed him a plumb line. There is a standard by which we are measured.
“The Lord asked me, ‘What do you see, Amos?’ I replied, ‘A plumb line.’ Then the Lord said, ‘I am setting a plumb line among My people Israel; I will no longer spare them:’” Amos 7:8 HCSB

Not culture, not our friends or family, not our own ideas, but God measures us with the truth of His Word.
“Search me, God, and know my heart; test me and know my concerns. See if there is any offensive way in me; lead me in the everlasting way.” Psalms 139:23-24 HCSB

Thankfully, Jesus Himself came to our rescue!
“For he has rescued us from the kingdom of darkness and transferred us into the Kingdom of his dear Son, who purchased our freedom and forgave our sins.” Colossians 1:13-14 NLT

Today we should ask God to show us ourselves. So we can repent and be forgiven. He is so gentle with us! He loves us and longs for us to come to Him in truth. The rewards (life, love, joy, peace, just to name a few) are great and eternal!

“We are destroying sophisticated arguments and every exalted and proud thing that sets itself up against the [true] knowledge of God, and we are taking every thought and purpose captive to the obedience of Christ,” 2 Corinthians 10:5 AMP
