“Don’t be like the people of this world, but let God change the way you think. Then you will know how to do everything that is good and pleasing to him.” Romans 12:2 CEV
How do we live this life? We have repented. Most likely we have been baptized. We go to church. What else? Has God changed us? Are our lives different from people who do not claim to be Christ followers? What makes us different?
“We live in this world, but we don’t act like its people or fight our battles with the weapons of this world. Instead, we use God’s power that can destroy fortresses. We destroy arguments and every bit of pride that keeps anyone from knowing God. We capture people’s thoughts and make them obey Christ.” 2 Corinthians 10:3-5 CEV
How do we walk in obedience to Jesus? Do we recognize the battle we are in?
These are all questions we can discuss at our next 2nd Saturday meeting on June 14. Our King equips us for growth in Him. How good it is to come together to encourage each other in the battle. We don’t have to stand alone! Training our minds to conform to God’s thoughts about us. Learning to believe what He says about us. Learning to keep the helmet of salvation firmly fixed over our minds!
Today we should pray that God will empower us to know our identity in Him. We should pray that Holy Spirit will guide our thoughts to realize more fully the love Jesus has for us.
“Finally, my friends, keep your minds on whatever is true, pure, right, holy, friendly, and proper. Don’t ever stop thinking about what is truly worthwhile and worthy of praise.” Philippians 4:8 CEV
