“One thing I ask from the Lord, this only do I seek: that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to gaze on the beauty of the Lord and to seek him in his temple.” Psalms 27:4 NIV
One thing. What is the one thing in life that we hold dear?
This morning I heard a preacher talking about distractions. They come at us from all sides, don’t they!
Again, what is that one thing that we hold dear? Does our life show what we are devoted to?
“Therefore he is able to save completely those who come to God through him, because he always lives to intercede for them.” Hebrews 7:25 NIV
Jesus prays for us!
“And I will put my Spirit in you and move you to follow my decrees and be careful to keep my laws.” Ezekiel 36:27 NIV
He sends Holy Spirit to live in us!
“My son, do not let wisdom and understanding out of your sight, preserve sound judgment and discretion; they will be life for you, an ornament to grace your neck. Then you will go on your way in safety, and your foot will not stumble. When you lie down, you will not be afraid; when you lie down, your sleep will be sweet.” Proverbs 3:21-24 NIV
Today we should pray that we will allow ourselves to be led by God. We should pray that we will be devoted to this One Who loves us, and not be distracted.
“The goal of this command is love, which comes from a pure heart and a good conscience and a sincere faith. Some have departed from these and have turned to meaningless talk.” 1 Timothy 1:5-6 NIV
