“There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to people, and we must be saved by it.” Acts 4:12 HCSB
No other name has the power that the Name of Jesus has. This week we remember. It’s easy in our busy lives to forget who we are, who He is.
“Then he released Barabbas to them. But he had Jesus flogged, and handed him over to be crucified. (…) They stripped him and put a scarlet robe on him, and then twisted together a crown of thorns and set it on his head. They put a staff in his right hand. Then they knelt in front of him and mocked him. ‘Hail, king of the Jews!’ they said. They spit on him, and took the staff and struck him on the head again and again.” Matthew 27:26; 28-30 NIV
This was it- Jesus’ purpose for coming to our earth, leaving the glories of heaven. He came to go through this horrible death! For us.
“And Jesus cried out again with a loud voice and yielded up his spirit. And behold, the curtain of the temple was torn in two, from top to bottom. And the earth shook, and the rocks were split.” Matthew 27:50-51 ESV
“No one has greater love than this, that someone would lay down his life for his friends.” John 15:13 HCSB
“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away, and look, new things have come.” 2 Corinthians 5:17 HCSB
Today we should pray that God will change us. Because Jesus is God’s perfect sacrifice for our sin. Jesus is alive and victorious! (The tomb is empty!)
“But Peter and John answered them, ‘Whether it’s right in the sight of God for us to listen to you rather than to God, you decide; for we are unable to stop speaking about what we have seen and heard.’” Acts 4:19-20 HCSB
