“And walk in love, as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us, a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God.” Ephesians 5:2 ESV
Come with me on a journey. It begins with love. Imitating Jesus.
The journey goes back a few centuries to a place where animals were housed. Enter: The King!
“And while they were there, the time came for her to give birth. And she gave birth to her firstborn son and wrapped him in swaddling cloths and laid him in a manger, because there was no place for them in the inn.” Luke 2:6-7 ESV
Three decades later this King regally enters Jerusalem.
“And the crowds that went before him and that followed him were shouting, ‘Hosanna to the Son of David! Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord! Hosanna in the highest!’” Matthew 21:9 ESV
A week later many from possibly the same crowd declare His death sentence.
“Pilate said to them, ‘Then what shall I do with Jesus who is called Christ?’ They all said, ‘Let him be crucified!’” Matthew 27:22 ESV
We’ve read the story and know how it ends. We know about the empty tomb. We’ve read how Jesus was taken up to Heaven to prepare a place for any who believe in Him.
Because of the manger, the cross, the empty tomb, the price of our redemption was paid. And now, we have an invitation.
“Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.” Hebrews 4:16 ESV
Today we are all invited to come in surrender and adoration before this King Who is coming again!
