Joy

“And the angel said to them, ‘Fear not, for behold, I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people.’” ‭‭Luke‬ ‭2‬:‭10‬ ‭ESV‬‬

What a greeting! Don’t be afraid. There’s reason to be full of joy. Not just happiness. Joy. There’s a difference.

God’s kingdom is so different from the world. The Creator stepped into our world to buy us back from the kingdom of darkness. To bring us joy because by His death He gives us Life. By our death to self through repentance and surrender to Him, we gain this new Life.

“But Jesus called them to him and said, ‘You know that the rulers of the Gentiles Lord it over them, and their great ones exercise authority over them. It shall not be so among you. But whoever would be great among you must be your servant, and whoever would be first among you must be your slave, even as the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.’” ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭20‬:‭25‬-‭28‬ ‭ESV‬‬

Today we can rejoice. In the middle of any mess we may be in, we can rejoice in the Life we have in Jesus. Today we should bring our requests to the One Who already has the answers.

“Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, rejoice. (…) do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.” Philippians‬ ‭4‬:‭4‬, ‭6‬ ‭ESV‬‬
