Kingdom

“This is my command—be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid or discouraged. For the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” Joshua 1:9 NLT

The theme this year for our ministry, The King’s Daughters, is ‘The King Equips Us.’ That begs the question, what are we equipped for? Or, why do we need to be equipped?

“For he has rescued us from the kingdom of darkness and transferred us into the Kingdom of his dear Son, who purchased our freedom and forgave our sins.” Colossians 1:13-14 NLT

When we repent and surrender to Jesus, He takes us out of the kingdom we were in and places us into His kingdom. These kingdoms are in opposition to each other.

“For God in all his fullness was pleased to live in Christ, and through him God reconciled everything to himself. He made peace with everything in heaven and on earth by means of Christ’s blood on the cross.” Colossians 1:19-20 NLT

God had this plan in mind from the beginning. He knew we would all go our own way. He knew we needed saving, rescuing.

And now, for anyone who has answered His call to repent and receive this gift of salvation, He equips us to live in this Kingdom of Life.

Today we should pray that we will trust Jesus, His leading, and His equipping. We should pray for eyes to see this new kingdom and how He wants us to live in it. “Yet now he has reconciled you to himself through the death of Christ in his physical body. As a result, he has brought you into his own presence, and you are holy and blameless as you stand before him without a single fault.” Colossians 1:22 NLT
