“And He sat down, called the twelve, and said to them, ‘If anyone desires to be first, he shall be last of all and servant of all.’” Mark 9:35 NKJV
The Kingdom of God is unlike any other. Upside down, backwards, challenging the normal thinking. And Jesus demonstrated God’s thoughts and His Kingdom with His life and words. He Who created everything came into the squalor of this world to die for us so we can live with Him.
And then His thoughts on children:
“Whoever receives one of these little children in My name receives Me; and whoever receives Me, receives not Me but Him who sent Me.” Mark 9:37 NKJV
In the back-to-school month of August we will discuss teaching/mentoring/discipleship at our next 2nd Saturday discussion on August 9.
“You therefore, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus. And the things that you have heard from me among many witnesses, commit these to faithful men who will be able to teach others also. You therefore must endure hardship as a good soldier of Jesus Christ.” II Timothy 2:1-3 NKJV
Today we should pray that we will not only be able to teach others accurately what we have learned about God and His Kingdom, but also that we will be able to endure hardship.
“Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus, who, being in the form of God, did not consider it robbery to be equal with God, but made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a bondservant, and coming in the likeness of men. And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross. Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.” Philippians 2:5-11 NKJV
