“If you faint in the day of adversity, your strength is small. Rescue those who are being taken away to death; hold back those who are stumbling to the slaughter. If you say, ‘Behold, we did not know this,’ does not he who weighs the heart perceive it? Does not he who keeps watch over your soul know it, and will he not repay man according to his work?” Proverbs 24:10-12 ESV
What/when is the day of adversity? Bad news? Bad year? How have we all been doing this past year? How does our future look?
We named our retreats for this year ‘Living Hope’. There seems to be a lack of hope in many people. But if we know Jesus, we have every reason to hope! No matter what happens to us, the loving God of hope and life is with us! He will help us through even the worst of things! And when we know this, truly know and understand this, we can respond positively to His call to us to help rescue others! We have the message of living hope!
“The next day he saw Jesus coming toward him, and said, ‘Behold, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!’ (…) And I have seen and have borne witness that this is the Son of God.” John 1:29, 34 ESV
Are you trusting in God’s strength today or your own? Has God proven His faithfulness to you? Has He shown His love for you? If not, please do not hesitate to call out to Him. He is in the rescuing business!
