“Remember not the former things, nor consider the things of old. Behold, I am doing a new thing; now it springs forth, do you not perceive it? I will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert.” Isaiah 43:18-19 ESV
We’re fast approaching another new year. It often comes with contemplations of change, regrets, comparisons, and anticipation.
“But when the fullness of time had come, God sent forth his Son, born of woman, born under the law, to redeem those who were under the law, so that we might receive adoption as sons.” Galatians 4:4-5 ESV
There was a time when timeless God stepped into time and changed history. To all who would believe, Jesus Himself was to be the greatest Gift ever. Redemption purchased by the blood of the sinless Lamb.
That, our freedom from sin and death, would have been enough. But there’s more. This miraculous Gift brought many more: a relationship with our Creator. Entry into His presence. Peace. Joy. Healing. Authority. Love.
Jesus was stopped by two blind men and listened to them-
“And stopping, Jesus called them and said, ‘What do you want me to do for you?’ They said to him, ‘Lord, let our eyes be opened.’ And Jesus in pity touched their eyes, and immediately they recovered their sight and followed him.” Matthew 20:32-34 ESV
Today we should ask God to open our eyes to see Him. Now is the time to humbly accept His Gift to us.
“And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:7 ESV
