No Fear

“How long will the enemy mock you, God? Will the foe revile your name forever? Why do you hold back your hand, your right hand? Take it from the folds of your garment and destroy them!” Psalms 74:10-11 NIV

This could have been written today with what we see around us. It seems the enemy is getting increasingly bold every day. The injustice more vile and cruel. I feel like those verses have become my daily prayer!

“Then the peoples around them set out to discourage the people of Judah and make them afraid to go on building.” Ezra 4:4 NIV

We see discouragement and fear today. But it does not have to be that way!

“for though the righteous fall seven times, they rise again, but the wicked stumble when calamity strikes.” Proverbs 24:16 NIV

God is on our side when we are on His. We do not have to give in to fear or discouragement. He IS as close to us as our next thought, our next breath. He is there when we call out to Him!

“We praise you, God, we praise you, for your Name is near; people tell of your wonderful deeds.” Psalms 75:1 NIV

Jesus, our Living Hope! In the middle of a mess, He is with us. In the middle of hardships, He is with us. In the middle of storms, He is with us. And in the end?

“‘He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.” Revelation 21:4 NIV

Today give your fear and discouragement to Jesus. He is here with us to help us.

Do you need help in finding hope today? Judy VandeZandschulp, Linda Holub, and Christie Dougherty will be bringing words of Living Hope to our retreat May 1 at RiverzEdge. Check out the details and register on our events page!
