“He is not here, for he has risen, as he said. Come, see the place where he lay.” Matthew 28:6 ESV
Imagine their sorrow as these ladies walked to Jesus’ tomb. They took spices with them to anoint His disfigured corpse. On the way they discussed the problem of the stone that sealed the entrance. Now imagine their surprise when instead they were greeted with this invitation from angels- come and see!
Because of the empty tomb, we know that promises like this are real and true:
“He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.” Psalm 147:3 ESV
If we have repented and surrendered our lives to Jesus, it’s because we have come to know that He is God and He loves us. If we know that He loves us and He is God, we can trust that He really is working in our lives. He knows what He’s doing. For His glory. For our good.
Today we should pray that God will strengthen us for whatever we face. We can pray that our trust and faith in Jesus and His mighty resurrection power will grow strong.
“We sent Timothy, who is our brother and co-worker in God’s service in spreading the gospel of Christ, to strengthen and encourage you in your faith, so that no one would be unsettled by these trials. For you know quite well that we are destined for them.” 1 Thessalonians 3:2-3 NIV.
