“But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.” 1 Peter 2:9 NIV
This coming Saturday our ministry will be gathering for our 2nd Saturday of the Month Discussion. One of the questions we’ll be discussing concerns our purpose. Here’s a sneak preview of the answer. Our purpose as followers of Jesus is to glorify God! To declare His praise!
“And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching.” Hebrews 10:24-25 NIV
This is something The King’s Daughters has been doing for a while now. Meeting each month to talk, search the Bible for answers, and pray together as we encourage each other. Keeping our eyes on Jesus, and helping each other to stay focused on Him.
“Consider him who endured such opposition from sinners, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart.” Hebrews 12:3 NIV
Today we should pray for opportunities to encourage others on our way through this life. We each have our own joys and challenges. Let’s pray for courage to share them!
“Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their labor: If either of them falls down, one can help the other up. But pity anyone who falls and has no one to help them up. Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves. A cord of three strands is not quickly broken.” Ecclesiastes 4:9-10, 12 NIV
