“My son, give me your heart, and let your eyes observe my ways.” Proverbs 23:26 HCSB
I seemed to hear the tender heart of our Father when I read this verse. Instructing us. Wanting the best for us.
“You also are being built together for God’s dwelling in the Spirit.” Ephesians 2:22 HCSB
One thing scripture makes clear is that God created us for relationship. With Him and with each other. The Bible has compared us to different parts of the body and the necessity of the different parts and different functions. We don’t hear with our feet any more than we can see with our lungs. We’re all needed for different things. Similar to the different pieces of armor God has for us, like these 3:
“Stand therefore, having fastened on the belt of truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and, as shoes for your feet, having put on the readiness given by the gospel of peace.” Ephesians 6:14-15 ESV
I noticed that Psalms talks about honoring God with our walking, our talking, our heart, our eyes, really our whole being!
“O Lord, who shall sojourn in your tent? Who shall dwell on your holy hill? He who walks blamelessly and does what is right and speaks truth in his heart; who does not slander with his tongue and does no evil to his neighbor, nor takes up a reproach against his friend; in whose eyes a vile person is despised, but who honors those who fear the Lord; who swears to his own hurt and does not change;” Psalm 15:1-4 ESV
Today we can pray that as we walk in God’s Truth and Righteousness, God will use us for His glory to spread the good news of His peace.
