Repeat

“But when Pharaoh saw that there was relief, he hardened his heart and did not heed them, as the Lord had said. (…)  just as the Lord had said. (…) just as the Lord had spoken to Moses. (…) as the Lord had spoken by Moses.” Exodus‬ ‭ 8‬:‭15‬, ‭19‬; ‭9‬:‭12‬, ‭35‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

Repetition is usually for a purpose. Might I suggest that in this case God was showing His sovereignty? He sent the plagues because Pharaoh would not let His people, the slaves, go to worship Him. He warned Pharaoh each time. He said it once, then delivered. Just as the Lord said.

This Saturday we plan to discuss how we grow as believers at our monthly ladies’ gathering.

“‘and you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul (life), and with all your mind (thought, understanding), and with all your strength.’ [Deut 6:4, 5]” Mark‬ ‭12‬:‭30‬ ‭AMP‬‬

How do we do this? And what does it have to do with repetition? If loving God with all of our being (heart, soul, mind, and strength) is our goal, how do we get there? How similar is our growth as a believer to the growth and maturity of a child? Children learn by discipline and imitation. Do we learn the same way?

Today we should pray that God will teach us His ways. We can pray that we will grow ever closer to Jesus.

“O God, You are my God; with deepest longing I will seek You; My soul [my life, my very self] thirsts for You, my flesh longs and sighs for You, In a dry and weary land where there is no water.” ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭63‬:‭1‬ ‭AMP‬‬
