Surrender

“He said to them, ‘But who do you say that I am?’ Simon Peter answered and said, ‘You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.’” ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭16‬:‭15‬-‭16‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

What a question! How would we answer it? If our answer is the same as Peter’s, can we also say with Paul “For to me, to live is Christ, and to die is gain.” ‭‭Philippians‬ ‭1‬:‭21‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

Here in the USA, our hardships are different from other countries. Friends of mine in one country are able to rescue people who are trafficked. Another friend reaches into the heart of a huge Asian city to bring God’s Light and Hope to the women who work in the darkness.

For now the issues we face are a bit different. No matter how big or small, Jesus invites us to call out to Him. We should do that today. We can pray for the people in other countries who face hardships we can’t even imagine. We can pray for those in our own country who face devastating loss (victims of Hurricanes Helene and Milton come to mind). And we can bring our own selves to Jesus. In surrender to the One Who sees us, loves us, and is able to help us.

“In my distress I called upon the Lord, And cried out to my God; He heard my voice from His temple, And my cry came before Him, even to His ears. (…) He sent from above, He took me; He drew me out of many waters. He delivered me from my strong enemy, From those who hated me, For they were too strong for me. (…) He also brought me out into a broad place; He delivered me because He delighted in me.” Psalms‬ ‭18‬:‭6‬, ‭16‬-‭17‬, ‭19‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
