What God Does

“The blind receive sight, the lame walk, those who have leprosy are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, and the good news is proclaimed to the poor. (…) Then Jesus began to denounce the towns in which most of his miracles had been performed, because they did not repent.” ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭11‬:‭5‬, ‭20‬ ‭NIV‬‬

In my Bible reading this morning, these scriptures from Matthew, Ephesians, and Psalms jumped off the pages for me. How do they fit together?

In Matthew we see Jesus’ miracles. We see towns rejecting Him. The people did not repent.

Today. How do we respond when we see what God is doing? Or do we even see what He’s doing? If we believe Jesus is the same yesterday, today, and forever, we should be seeing miracles. Are we like the towns that did not repent, or do we walk in unity with other believers in Jesus?

“As a prisoner for the Lord, then, I urge you to live a life worthy of the calling you have received. Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love. Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace. There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called to one hope when you were called; one Lord, one faith, one baptism; one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all.” Ephesians‬ ‭4‬:‭1‬-‭6‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Paul, a prisoner himself, writes to the Ephesians to encourage them to live worthy of the calling they received. A calling to unity. A calling to love and hope. A calling to worship the God of all creation!

Today we should pray that our eyes will be open to see the power of God working in our lives. We should pray that His power will help us to live in love and unity with other believers and share God’s living Hope with people who have no hope. Let’s worship our King!

“Lord, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth! You have set your glory in the heavens. (…) Lord, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth!” Psalms‬ ‭8‬:‭1‬, ‭9‬ ‭NIV
