“The words of the Lord are pure words, like silver refined in an earthen furnace, purified seven times.” Psalms 12:6 HCSB
I finished reading Ezekiel this morning. God’s beautiful, pure word. The last words jumped out at me: Yahweh (God) is there.
“The perimeter of the city will be six miles, and the name of the city from that day on will be: Yahweh Is There.” Ezekiel 48:35 HCSB
The land of Israel had just been described and written down, then this. God is THERE. Then came Jesus, Yeshua.
“See, the virgin will become pregnant and give birth to a son, and they will name Him Immanuel, which is translated ‘God is with us.’” Matthew 1:23 HCSB
God stepped into time. He wasn’t THERE anymore. He was HERE!
But they rejected and killed Him. When He conquered sin and death, things changed once again.
“But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come on you, and you will be My witnesses in Jerusalem, in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” Acts 1:8 HCSB
Now He invites us to a life, a relationship with Him. It’s a rather unexplainable mystery but God Himself comes to live, to dwell within us when we repent and acknowledge Him as the One True Living God, the King above all kings!
“God wanted to make known among the Gentiles the glorious wealth of this mystery, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.” Colossians 1:27 HCSB
Today, we should pray that God will now direct us and use us for His glory. We should pray that we will be witnesses for Him and rescuers to the ones to whom He sends us. And if you have never taken these steps to be adopted into God’s family, I urge you to not wait another day. Reach out to Him today! Jesus, the risen, victorious King is returning soon.
“‘Because of the oppression of the afflicted and the groaning of the poor, I will now rise up,’ says the Lord. ‘I will put the one who longs for it in a safe place.’” Psalms 12:5 HCSB
