“And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God and saying, ‘Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace among those with whom he is pleased!’” Luke 2:13-14 ESV
What were the angels thinking? Years ago I read one possibility- they were astounded. That made sense. Angels knew the glory of God. They probably knew the depths to which humanity had sunk. What could the angels’ thoughts possibly be, to know that the King of glory would become man and be born in a barn?
Whatever their thoughts were, they sang His praises. They worshipped Him.
Today we should do the same. No matter what is facing us today, we can give Him glory for what He stooped to do for us!
“Have this mind among yourselves, which is yours in Christ Jesus, who, though he was in the form of God, did not count equality with God a thing to be grasped, but emptied himself, by taking the form of a servant, being born in the likeness of men. And being found in human form, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross. Therefore God has highly exalted him and bestowed on him the name that is above every name, so that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.” Philippians 2:5-11 ESV
